I moved to Round Rock when I was 4 years old. Graduated from Round Rock High School in 1994. After graduation I enrolled at Texas Tech University and received my Bachelor's degree in Music Education. During my time in Lubbock, I taught the drumline at Denver City HS for several years.
After graduation, I accepted my first teaching position in Princeton MS/HS. I taught the high school marching band (primarily drumline), 2nd band at the MS, and beginner Percussion, French Horn, and Flute.
After Princeton, I taught at Aledo HS for 2 years. During my time at Aledo, I instructed the high school marching band, the 3rd concert band at HS, and beginner Percussion, Oboe, and Bassoon.
After Aledo, I taught at Kennedale HS for 7 years. I instructed the HS drumline, marching band, 2nd concert band and beginner Flute, Clarinet, Bass Clarinet, Saxophone, French Horn, Baritone, and Percussion.
I have been very fortunate to be a part of programs that have all been to the State Marching Band Contest. In 2011, I had to make a hard decision to leave Kennedale ISD and move to the Austin area. Since my entire family lives in the Austin area, it made the decision a little easier.
I look forward to contributing and sharing my knowledge and experience with Thrall ISD. Thrall students are very courteous, respectful and eager. It has certainly been a great experience thus far with many more years to come.
